David W. Johnson, 92
David W. Johnson, age 92, of Ellsworth, died Monday, June 8, 2009, at the Ellsworth Care Center, Ellsworth, Wis.
David was born on Oct. 4, 1916, in Stockholm, Wis., the son of Hilding and Frankie (Nygard) Johnson. He was a longtime Pierce County farmer and Armours Meats employee. He married Isabel Larson.
David loved his grandkids and great grandkids, going for drives and had a great sense of humor. He was a member of 1st Presbyterian Church, Ellsworth.
David is survived by his three children, Ron (Jackie) Johnson, Ellsworth, Mary Ann (Paul) Janovec, River Falls, Keith Johnson, Ellsworth; 10 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren; one sister, Rose Jackson, Nashville, Tenn.; two half sisters, Ruby Anderson, Aurora, Neb., Marion McConnel, Phoenix, Ariz.
His wife, Isabel; son, Gary; parents, Hilding and Frankie Johnson; daughter in-law, Jane; brothers, Maynard and Alton; preceded him in death.
Funeral services for David will be 1 p.m. Thursday, June 11, 2009, at 1st Presbyterian Church, Ellsworth. Rev. Amy Flack will officiate. Burial will be in Maple Grove Cemetery, Ellsworth. Friends and family are invited to call on Wednesday at the Hill Funeral Home from 5-7 p.m., and for one hour prior to services at the church on Thursday.
Pallbearers will be David's grandchildren.
