Darl E. Hoffman, 79
Darl E. Hoffman of River Falls passed away suddenly Tuesday, July 30, at the age of 79.
He is survived by his devoted wife of 59 years, Dorie I. Hoffman. Loving father of David, Diane (Rich) Fronek, Denise (Mike) Guell, Dan (Shirley), Dale, Doug (Cheryl), Debbie (Scott) Dahl, Derrick (Brenda). 21 grandchildren: Jason, Heather, Abby, Lisa, Laura, Johanna, Andy, Nikki (Ryan), Shane, Wylie, Jesse (Nadia), Ashley, Lindsey, Sarah, Jennifer, Tori, Lexi, Breanna, Kayla, and Austin. Six great-grandchildren: Brittany, Emma, Carlie, Paxton, Xzavier, and Jude. He is further survived by a nephew, nieces, and other relatives and many friends,
Darl was preceded in death by his parents, Milton and Lena (Willey) Hoffman; granddaughter Katrina Fronek; one brother, Melvin; and two sisters, Loretta and Betty.
Darl was an active member of Ezekiel Lutheran Church and Zor Shrine, Madison, serving as potentate in 2000. He was a member of Lodge #109, Free and Accepted Masons, River Falls; St. Croix Valley Shrine Club and Zor Roadrunners; River Falls Moose Lodge, and the Senior Board where he served as president. Darl served on the River Falls City Council for 11 years and as mayor. Darl did what he loved and loved what he did. He worked hard and lived his retirement to the fullest.
Darl retired from the Andersen Corporation in 1990 after 38-1/2 years of service.
Services for Darl will be at 11 a.m. Monday, Aug. 5, at Ezekiel Lutheran Church, River Falls. Burial will be in the Greenwood Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Sunday at the Cashman-Hill Funeral Home, River Falls, where there will also be an 8 p.m. Masonic service. There will also be 1 hour of visitation prior to the service at the church on Monday. Memorials are preferred to Shriners Hospital for Children, Ezekiel Lutheran Church, or donor's choice.
