Daniel Dodge recognized for political work

LA CROSSE, WI -- Daniel Dodge of River Falls was selected to receive an Excellence Award by the Department of Political Science/Public Administration.

He serves as the Legislative Issues Director for the student Association and recently worked with university and city officials to meet the more stringent voter identification laws. He spoke before a hearing of the Government Accountability Board in Madison on the impact of these new laws on college students. He has interned twice for Congressman Ron Kind. Professor Jo Arney says that due to his leadership, Teach for America offered Dodge a position as a 2012 Corps Member. He will spend two years on a Native American reservation in South Dakota as part of this commitment. Dodge graduates this spring.
