Dana L. Berndt, 46
Dana Lynn Berndt, 46, of Bloomington, Ill., went to be with Jesus on Thursday evening, July 2, 2009, at OSF St. Joseph Medical Center in Bloomington, after a courageous battle with pancreatic cancer.
Dana was born on May 24, 1963, in Chicago, Ill., the daughter of Gary and Judy Reno Lewis. She spent most of her adult life as a daycare provider and household engineer. Dana enjoyed scrapbooking and numerous other crafts.
She was an active member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Bloomington and will always be remembered for her love and compassion for others; her generous spirit and willingness to share her faith with anyone she met.
Dana married Timothy D. Berndt on May 21, 1988, in New Brighton, Minn.
In addition to her husband, Timothy; Dana is survived by two children: Brianna Rose and Jeremiah Timothy Berndt, all of Bloomington; her parents: Gary and Judy Lewis; two sisters: Sheri (Carl) Agers and Kristie (Joe) Rossow; and many other relatives and friends.
A memorial service was held on Thursday, July 9, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Bloomington with Pastor Thomas Wirsing officiating.
In lieu of flowers, memorials to the Brianna & Jeremiah Trust Fund may be made in care of the Mid-Illini Credit Union 1811 Eastland Drive, Bloomington, IL 61704 or to Trinity Lutheran School, 1102 W. Hamilton, Bloomington, IL 61704 in Dana's memory.
Kibler-Smith Memorial Home, Bloomington, was in charge of arrangements.
