Community Ed Web site launched
The newly formed River Falls Community Education Collaborative group now has a Web site to let local people know where they can learn about lifelong learning, leisure, recreation and professional activities and classes. The address is www.rflearns.org.
Those interested in being listed on the Web site pay $10 a year. The payment allows individuals and organizations to submit an unlimited number of events to the "Community Calendar."
Commercial sponsors for the Web site cost $100 a year. It allows a business to display a logo as well as advertise events on the calendar.
Internet users can use the free service to find information about lifelong learning opportunities in the River Falls area.
The calendar can be printed and posted for the benefit of those who don't have a computer or the Internet.
"The purpose of (our) Web site is to promote the great opportunities that already exist in our area, and to make it easier for new classes and activities to get started," said Trudy Ohnsorg, a key organizer of River Falls Community Education Collaborative.
