Christofferson is being hosted during a joint meeting of the Pierce and St. Croix Democratic parties.

His presentation, which calls attention to Earth Day April 22, is free and open to the public. Christofferson will also sign copies of his books.

The speaking engagement and meeting will take place in the library's main floor conference room.

Nelson, an early environmentalist going back to the 1960s, is considered the founder of Earth Day. The phrase was first applied 40 years ago. It is now an annual event and acknowledged worldwide.
