CITY OF RIVER FALLS: 3/24/14 Hydroelectric Project Relicensing Meeting

CITY OF RIVER FALLS
The City of River Falls currently holds a license from the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) to operate the River Falls Hydroelectric Project that expires on August 31, 2018. As part of the Traditional Licensing Process, the City will be hosting a public meeting and site visit, as required by FERC regulations.
The meeting will be held on Monday, March 24, 2014. All of those interested should meet at the Power Plant on Winter Street at 3:30pm for a tour of the Junction Falls Dam at 4:00pm. The public meeting will continue at 5:30pm in the Training Room on the lower level of City Hall at 222 Lewis Street. There will be opportunities for public input, and a discussion of the resource needs and studies that need to be completed for relicensing.
There will also be an informational session at the Utility Advisory Board meeting on Monday, March 17, 2014 at 6:30pm. The meeting is in the Council Chambers on the lower level of City Hall at 222 Lewis Street. There will be an introductory presentation on the hydroelectric dams and the re- licensing process.
