The UW-RF women's golf team placed fifth out of six WIAC teams at the UW-Stevens Point Mad Dawg Invitational over the weekend at the Stevens Point Country Club.
Former River Falls High School standout Mackenzie Casey led the Falcons with a two-day total of 170, including a collegiate best 83 in Sunday's final round, to tie for ninth place.
Paige Cook finished with a two-day total of 185 (86-99) to finish 19th overall.
UW-Whitewater placed first with a team score of 659. Stevens Point was second with 676 followed by UW-Platteville with 708, UW-Stout with 716 and UW-RF with 741. UW-Oshkosh was sixth with 743.
Melissa Ellis of UW-Whitewater finished with 159 to win medalist honors.
"We met one of our goals by finishing ahead of Oshkosh at this weekend's meet," Falcon coach Matt Cranston said. "We are looking forward to the WIAC meet next weekend."
