Camping, swimming, horseshoes among local park amenities
Venerable Glen Park, with its historic suspension bridge, shelters, barbecue grills, picnic tables, swimming pool, playground equipment, softball fields, tennis and basketball courts, horseshoe pits and miles of trails that bring you face to face with the Kinnickinnic River, has been the central park of River Falls for more than a century. Reunions and parties are held here under the beautiful old trees offering shade and shelter in more than 36 acres, located off South Main Street.
In addition to Glen Park, River Falls has 12 other parks and recreation areas scattered throughout the city.
One of the city's largest developed parks is Hoffman Park, located on the eastern limits of the city along Division Street (County Road M).
The park has two shelters, 28 picnic benches, two lighted softball fields, two lighted volleyball courts, two ice rinks, an open area for touch football and soccer, playground equipment, 18 camping sites and a hiking trail.
The newest addition to this park is a paved skateboard/skate area, which features half-pipes and ramps. Additional
elements and lights will be added in the future.
Recreational vehicle parking with spaces and electrical hook-ups are
available with shower facilities on the premises. The area opens on April 1 and closes Oct. 31.
Desanctis Park is a 25-acre park at the western edge of River Falls. Although in the early stages of development, this community park has winding trails and young trees now.
When finished, it will also have playground equipment and picnic facilities. The former Glover School building, most recently used as the Troy Town Hall, was moved to the park and is being developed as a nature center.
A five-acre neighborhood park on the northwest side of the city is Collins Park. Also a newer park, it has pathways and benches, two picnic tables, playground equipment, bicycle trails, open space for ball fields, a half-court for playing basketball and a gazebo.
Other smaller parks include Wells Park, which has two picnic tables, playground equipment, tennis and volleyball courts, a winter ice rink and an open space. It is located in a residential area in the south section of town.
Larsen Park is made up of 5.5 acres on the city's south side, and has a restored prairie grass area, picnic tables, a softball diamond, sled run, basketball court, volleyball court and modular play equipment. There are 2,160 feet of paved trails. The park is located just off Cemetery Road.
Mound Park is a 23-acre wooded hill overlooking the north central part of the city. It contains hiking trails and playground equipment. Hikers can see a large portion of the city from the top of this park and may observe birds, rabbits and other small animals. In winter, the area is popular with cross-country skiers. Two entrances lead to this area, one through Hoffman Park and the other through North Fourth Street.

River Hills Park
River Hills Park, accessed from the corner of Bartosh Lane and Foster Street, boasts hiking and cross-country ski trails. Eighteen acres of this park are developed; another 40 await development.
Hamilton & Brandon's Parks
Hamilton Park & Brandon's Park are located in residential areas in the southwestern portion of the city. The parks cover approximately two acres apiece, and contain picnic tables, playground equipment and hiking trails. Hamilton Park has a softball field and an outdoor ice rink, while Brandon's Park has a volleyball net and a swing set.
Veterans & Heritage Parks
Veterans Park & Heritage Park are located in the downtown area. Both provide views of the Kinnickinnic River and entry to White Kinnickinnic Pathway. Picnic tables and benches are available.
White Kinnickinnic Pathway
The White Kinnickinnic Pathway is an urban park pathway along the Kinnickinnic River with fishing pier/deck, two picnic tables, hiking and biking trails. Enter at Heritage Park.
Golfview Park is a 24-acre physical fitness course area located on the eastern edges of the city. It has eight soccer fields, several picnic tables and hiking trails.
Westdale Park is located in the northwestern part of the city. The neighborhood park is an open space park covering about two acres. It has two picnic tables and some playground equipment.
