Building Commission approves $64 million UWRF projects
The Wisconsin Building Commission announced Wednesday it has approved $64.3 million in construction projects for UW-River Falls.
The UWRF project, the largest approved Oct. 16, involves building the Falcon Center for Health, Education and Wellness and work on Ramer Field.
At other campuses, two academic buildings are being renovated for $56 million. They are Harvey Hall at UW-Stout and the Clow Social Science Center at UW-Oshkosh. Dormitory renovations were also approved for UW-Stevens Point and UW-Whitewater. The dorm projects will total just over $31 million.
“The projects approved today will provide an economic benefit to the entire state of Wisconsin,” said Gov. Scott Walker in the news release. “I would like to thank the members of the Building Commission for moving forward on these important projects.”
In addition to the UW projects a number of other projects were approved, including the replacement of the La Crosse State Office Building HVAC system.
Walker chairs the Building Commission. The other members of the eight-person committee are legislators and one citizen member.
