Betty Loff, 92
Betty Loff, age 92, of River Falls, Wis., died Thursday, Aug. 1, at The Lutheran Home in River Falls.
She was born the daughter of Charles and Della (Amundsen) Lee on Jan. 31, 1921, in International Falls, Minn. Betty attended schools in International Falls and graduated from high school in 1938. In 1941, she married Melvin Peter Loff. She lived in Mizpah on the family farm from 1950-1993. Betty worked for the Northome Nursing Home for 20 years, retiring in 1985.
She was a longtime member of Bethesda Lutheran Church, belonging to the Ladies Aid. Her hobbies included knitting, crocheting, gardening, reading, traveling after retirement, and in later years, she loved listening to Garrison Keillor.
Betty was preceded in death by her parents; husband Melvin; sisters Doris Suomala and Mavis Solo; brother Donald Lee; and son-in-law, Michael Geringer.
She is survived by her children, Gary (Denise) Loff, Carol Geringer, Nancy (Bill) Thompson; five grandchildren, Scott, Danette, Andy, Marcy, Tony; seven great-grandchildren; one great-great grandchild; and brother Ed Lee.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 8, at Bakken-Young Funeral Home in River Falls. Visitation will also be held Thursday from 10-11 a.m. before the service. Private interment will be in Longville Cemetery in Longville, Minn.
