A Bayfield County woman is due in court a week from today in the death of her seven-month-old daughter.
Tara Amraen, 25, of Washburn, is charged with second-degree reckless homicide, after Ciana Hendricks-Amraen drowned in a bathtub Sept. 10. Prosecutors said Amraen put the girl in a baby chair and placed it in the bathtub along with a 2-year-old sibling and then she went to a friend's apartment in her same building to watch part of the TV show "America's Got Talent."
Amraen then went back to her place, and found the baby unresponsive.
The girl died later at an Ashland hospital.
Amraen is free on a signature bond, pending her initial court appearance.
