First place in each group earns $50, while second place earns $25. Young contestants in the graham-cracker category earned $10 or $5 for first or second place. The River Falls State Bank sponsors the contest and provides prize money.

Judges choose the winners except for the people's choice award, which citizens decide by voting. Creations in the Gingerbread Contest will be on display at the River Falls Public Library, 140 Union St. through Thursday, Dec. 20.

In the 2012 contest, people chose Jill Wurdell's 'Life at the Cabin' creation as the winner. See all the winner in photo gallery attached to this story.
