Bacon fans, this bash is for you

Rounding out the busy first weekend of September is the inaugural year of Bacon Bash and the last Car Cruz-In of the season.

Both events will be from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 8, in downtown River Falls.

The Bacon Bash, a one-day festival, "celebrates all things bacon and allows attendees to experience bacon-inspired dishes from local restaurants and enjoy local craft beers," according to the River Falls Chamber of Commerce.

Scheduled events include an amateur cook-off featuring celebrity judges, a parade of pets, pig calling, pig impersonation, pig wing eating contests and the first ever Swine "Flew" competition.

Lining the streets during the last Car Cruze-in will be classic cars, rat rods and more.
