Kenosha police have removed a menagerie of exotic reptiles from a home in the 1400 block of 53rd Street.
Five Central American snakes, two American alligators, one crocodile, a Gila monster and a snapping turtle were taken from the home to the Kenosha zoo. Officials at the zoo say the reptiles appear to be healthy.
The home where the reptiles were being kept had a pond in its basement and a dead alligator skeleton and several other dead animals in the backyard. The Gila monster was one of several venomous animals found.
No arrests were announced immediately.
