Audrey was born Nov. 29, 1929, the daughter of George and Astrid (Steen) Russell in Ellsworth, Wisconsin. She was baptized at Our Savior's Lutheran Church, Beldenville, attended Trinity Lutheran in Glenwood City and has been a long time member of Gilman Lutheran Church, Spring Valley.

Audrey attended grade schools at Downing and Colfax. Her first job was a mechanic at a garage and she knew car motors better than most men. When 14, she drove her boss's Model A up to St. Paul to get parts. Audrey graduated from Glenwood City High School in 1947. She attended college for one year at UW-Stout.

On Sept. 5, 1948, Audrey married Eugene Geiger at Trinity Lutheran in Glenwood. Gene and Audrey farmed in Cady Township where they raised their five children. They owned and operated Geiger's Grocery Store in Spring Valley from 1967 until 1988. Audrey then trained with Century 21, while working full-time and became a licensed realtor. She last worked at Coldwell-Bankers in Menomonie. She retired in 2005.

Thru the years, Audrey was active in the Gilman Ladies Aid, 4-H, and was a Cub Scout Den Mother. Audrey liked to sew and made numerous clothing items for her three growing daughters - including yearly matching Easter dresses!

In her retirement years she then took up quilting "to help her relax", she claimed. She enjoyed music and played with McKernon's Band. Audrey liked having a garden in those years and she had time and went on to become a Master Gardener, keeping the flowers around their home bright and colorful.

Audrey had a great work ethic. She also enjoyed volunteering her time along with donating to numerous causes. Audrey liked to entertain and enjoyed having the Russell Reunions at the farm and was always ready to visit with any traveling relatives that stopped in. She also had a wonderful sense of humor. Family would enjoy hearing stories!

She was preceded in death by her parents; her son, Robert "Bob"; infant brother, Arthur and infant sister, Roberta; sister, Georgia "Jo" Hagen; brother, George "Steen" Russell; son-in-law, Bill Hinzman; brothers-in-law, Kenneth Matter, Charles Johnson and Arthur Jersild.
