River Falls Wisconsin 2815 Prairie Drive / P.O. Box 25 54022

A second former employee of a state-owned nursing home for veterans has been sentenced for stealing from residents.

James Hucke, 42, Racine, was put under a year of state supervision Thursday. Hucke stole $5 to $100 from each of 13 residents at the State Veterans' Home in Waupaca County.

And he admitted stealing a resident's credit card - all to hide a gambling problem.

Circuit Judge James Huber told Hucke to pay back the victims, write letters of apology, and do 50 hours of community service.

Earlier this year, Rich Calcut, the home's former public information officer, was sentenced to a year in jail for taking a $250,000 donated to the veterans' recreational activities.
