Allan Buttenhoff, 73
Allan Dale Buttenhoff passed away after a lengthy battle with leukemia.
Al was born July 24, 1937, in Melrose, Wis., son of Alfred and Dorothy Buttenhoff. He grew up in North Bend, Wis. He graduated from the Melrose, Wis., high school in 1955. He was a member of the U.S. Air Force from 1956 to 1962, serving some of that time in Japan. He married Sandra (Henjum) June 13, 1964, and a year later they moved to River Falls, Wis., where they have made their home for the past 46 years.
Al loved living in River Falls and he loved all the friends he made bowling, fishing, golfing and farming. He owned Allyndale Mobile Home Park until his retirement in July 1996.
He is survived by his wife; son, Paul, and daughter, Holly (Calvin) Schaefer; sister, Barbara (Larry) Hertzfeldt, and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Sally (Roger) Carlson.
A Celebration of Life is planned at Cashman Hill Mortuary in River Falls, at 2 p.m. Saturday, August 14, with visitation from 12-2 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, Al wanted donations to the River Falls Food Shelf.
The family wishes to thank everyone who provided support to Al, especially during his illness.
