ADORAY announces plans to build a hospice house
After nearly two decades of providing end-of-life care services to western Wisconsin residents, ADORAY Home Health and Hospice is excited to announce their plans to build a Hospice House, the only one of its kind in St. Croix County.
A hospice house is designed to care for patients with a terminal illness, who require care beyond what a family is able to offer. The home-like setting will be staffed 24 hours a day, seven days a week by the experienced, specially trained members of the ADORAY hospice team.
“It is our hope that the hospice house will be a warm and welcoming place that our patients will call ‘home’,” said Paula Johnson, RN, ADORAY Hospice Manager.
“We have provided home health and hospice for over 10,000 people in western Wisconsin during the last 20 years. There is still one unmet need for some hospice patients in our service area. That need is assistance for patients whose life circumstances don’t allow them to remain in their own home during their last days, weeks or months of life.”
In the upcoming months, the ADORAY Hospice Board Committee will take on the challenge of raising the funds needed to build this multi-million dollar, state-of-the-art hospice facility. In addition, the committee will be seeking an ideal location for the hospice house.
“We feel that because St. Croix County is centrally located in our service area, it is the perfect place for our hospice house,” said Mary Troftgruben, RN, ADORAY executive director.
ADORAY is the only Wisconsin-based not-for-profit home health and hospice agency that serves all of St. Croix, Pierce, Polk, and Western Dunn Counties.
