CITY OF RIVER FALLS: Notice to Bidders - Building Demolition Project

City Owned Building Demolition Project

The City of River Falls will receive sealed bids at the City Clerk’s office at City Hall until 1:00 pm on Thursday, August 15, 2013, at which time bids will be opened and publicly read aloud in the Kinnickinnic Conference Room, located at 222 Lewis Street, River Falls, Wisconsin. The project generally includes the following work:
• Demolish building located at 302 N. Clark St. (former
Cenex) building.
• Demolish building known as the “Former Freight
Warehouse” located at the corner of River Road and
W. Cedar Avenue.
• Demolish the building known as the “concrete bunker”
located immediately north of the apartment building.
• Fill and grade site as described in the project
specifications. Haul demolished building materials to a
landfill certified to accept asbestos containing materials.
Said work shall be in accordance with the specifications prepared by the Community Development Department. Any questions concerning this project shall be directed to Michael Centinario, Management Analyst, at 715-425-3425.
Project documents may be obtained from the City of River Falls Community Development Department and from the City or River Falls website: A pre-bid meeting and walk-through has been scheduled for 8:30 a.m. on Friday, August 9th. The meeting will begin in the Kinnickinnic Conference Room in City Hall.
No bid will be considered unless accompanied by a certified check or bid bond in the amount of five percent (5%) of the amount of the bid made payable to the City of River Falls, as a guarantee that if the bid is accepted, the successful bidder will execute the Contract and furnish a performance bond and payment bond in the total amount of the Contract within ten (10) days after the award of said Contract.
All bids shall be in a sealed envelope clearly marked: “City Owned Building Demolition Project." The City of River Falls reserves the right to reject any or all bids, to waive informalities, and to accept the bid deemed most advantageous to the City.
