A crowed packed the River Falls Public Library's lower level Thursday, March 9. About 185 people had come to listen to a panel of experts at the city's second Tech Talk.

The four panelists discussed river ecology.

The panelits began by answering a series of set questions, and then the audience members were given 30-40 minutes to ask their own questions.

Many of those questions were specific to certain parts of the Kinnickinnic River, said City Development Director Buddy Lucero.  He said concerns were raised about how removing the city's dams might impact stormwater management, and local wildlife. He said people voiced  concerns about the area around the river, as well.

Lucero said he feels the Tech Talk was successful.

This is the second in a series of six "Tech Talks." These are a designed to offer information on the river corridor planning process, and are a part of the Kinni Corridor Project, a "comprehensive, two-year planing process focused on the Kinnickinnic River Corridor," according to the Kinni Corridor Project website.

The Tech Talk was recorded, and the video should be available on the Kinni Corridor Project website soon, according to Lucero.

Future Tech Talk dates and topics include:

• April 6: Economic and Neighborhood Development

• May 18: Hydro Facilities and Relicensing

• July 20: Dam Removal Alternatives

• Sept. 7: Recreation and Tourism
