Store Director John Wild confirmed Friday that the Family Fresh grocery store at 303 Main St. begins a grand-opening event Sunday, June 24, that kicks off a celebration of the newly remodeled store and includes several weekends of special promotions, fun activities and prize drawings.

He said everyone is welcome to the official ribbon cutting ceremony happening 9 a.m., Tuesday, June 26, at the store. It marks the finish of a major remodel project that began in December and included improvements to just about every part of the building as the store transitioned from Econofoods to Family Fresh.

Wild and Tom Swanson, Nash Finch's Vice President of Corporate Retail, say it's been a long time and a lot of hard work but has come together as planned and within schedule.

The two say grand opening activities will continue for several weekends in row. Visitors can enter a drawing for prizes to include a Weber grill, washer and dryer, gift cards, bags of groceries or a year's supply of ice cream.

During the grand opening weekends, the store will host a meet and greet with the Twins' mascot TC Bear, as well as former player Tony Oliva; a visit from the Bellatoria Pizza Wagon; and bull riding with the Matador mechanical bull. Guests will also find samples, kids' games and other activities.

Specific dates and times of each event are available inside the store. Get more information about the completion of this major project in the June 28 print edition of the River Falls Journal.
