Hey biking enthusiasts, get cranked

The Route bike shop may have just closed, but, just in time for spring, a new one is set to replace it. Local man Isaac Curtis, a bike mechanic at The Route, expects to open Crank Worx, 122 S. Main St., March 1.

Curtis has the blessing of Adam Schmidt, owner of The Route for nearly 13 years, who called Curtis a "trusted employee."

Crank Worx will also carry Trek bicycle inventory. Curtis, a certified bike technician, will handle repairs.

"I'm aiming for a quick turnaround time on service to go with competitive pricing," said the 21-year-old Curtis who grew up in Prescott.

Besides new bikes, Crank Worx will also sell bicycle helmets, seats, locks, gloves, shoes, racks and other accessories, tools and apparel.

Crank Worx is located in the same building that used to house Kinni Coffee Lounge.
