Chamber recognizes outstanding businesses, individuals

Members and friends of River Falls Area Chamber of Commerce & Tourism Bureau gathered over dinner at Killkarney Hills Golf Club Tuesday evening to celebrate the year's and recognize outstanding accomplishments by individuals, businesses and local not-for-profits.

The event's casino theme was abbreviated a bit when the Eau Claire firm contracted to provide the games cancelled out, due to the extreme weather, but no one seemed to notice. Awards for outstanding volunteers; Citizen-, Small Business and Business of the Year took center stage.

Named Citizen of the Year was Janna Carl, an active volunteer with the River Falls Food Pantry and the "Celebrate Recovery" program.

The St. Croix Valley Restorative Justice program and its director, Chris Miner, earned the Small Business of the Year award. Other nominees were Firth Financial Professional Bookkeeping Services and Voila! Media Group.

Business of the Year was the River Falls Area Hospital & River Falls Medical Clinic in recognition of their leadership role in establishing a free medical clinic.

Chamber director Rosanne Bump and emcee Michael Thompson of Bio Diognostics recognized outstanding members Terri McKay as the "Chamber Champion" and member Isaac Grover as "Ambassador of the Year".
