Todd Bjerstedt and Ben Plunkett will move on to the spring election ballot, following the Feb. 20 primary for River Falls City Council District 4 alderperson.
Bjerstedt lead with 89 votes. Plunkett received 48 votes. Nathan Stauner received 20 votes. There were also three write-in votes, according to City Clerk Amy White.
The April 3 ballot will be a full one, White said. Local offices on the ballot include:
• Alderperson at large (two seats)
• District 4 alderperson
• Municipal judge
In addition to those local offices the following offices will also be on the ballot:
• A school referendum
• A school district board member seat
• County supervisors
• Circuit court
• Justice of the supreme court
• Constitutional amendment to eliminate the office of State Treasurer
Early voting is available in person at City Hall to any River Falls resident who is eligible to vote, said White. It begins on March 19, from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
The polling place for residents of District 3, wards 6-8 has been changed to the Hoffman Park Storm Shelter. White said the middle school is no longer available as a polling location.
